New Consignment Shop Has Something for Everyone

Fuse carries clothing for men and women, as well as art by local artists.

A new store is adding flavor to the Kings Village Shopping Center in Scotts Valley, and it's got something for everybody. Fuse, is the consignment shop that Krystal Black and Stacee Haney have been dreaming of opening for many years now.

It fits right in between Erik's Deli and Ideal Hair, in the old location of the Scotts Valley Artisans, which moved just across the parking lot.

Black met her business partner while working in a consignment store in downtown Santa Cruz, which Haney frequented. The two got to talking and realized they both shared a dream of opening their own store.

"I learned from my stepmom about 15 years ago," said Haney, whose stepmom had a clothing store in her house. "It's something that Scotts Valley really needs."

The store carries mid to high-end labels in both casual and professional attire, and the prices are extremely affordable.

"We do it all on consignment so consigners get 40% once they sell," says Black.

Black and Haney accept modern styles of clothing (from the last few years) in good condition.

Aside from clothing, Fuse features a full wall of secondhand purses in good condition, as well as shoes, hats, and jewelry.

There are also over a dozen local artists displaying their work at Fuse, from jewelers to painters to photography. A few of them came from the Scotts Valley Artisan's waiting list, and others wandered in on their own to sell their ware.

On July 7 at 7 p.m., Fuse and Ideal Hair are putting on a Fashion Show. There will be door prizes, gift baskets, and gift cards, as well as inspiring hairdo's and creative fashion. It's also a great chance to get 25 percent off your purchase of hair products and merchandise.
