Patch Picks: Unique Boutique Shopping in Scotts Valley

Below are Patch's top five picks for favorite shopping destinations in our town.

1. is a women’s clothing boutique that specializes in stocking the best in designer labels. With an eclectic collection of couture dresses, handbags and home accessories, Debutante is a shoppers’ paradise. It boasts great style and reasonable prices, making this fashion house one of the area’s best values. Debutante Clothing is at 245 Mt. Hermon Rd., Suite R, in Scotts Valley. For more information and store hours, call 831-440-9142.

2. is a self-described “little gypsy boutique.” It is a great place to go when looking to update your wardrobe on a budget. It is a consignment store, meaning there is a constantly changing inventory of used clothing and accessories. A special part of its appeal is that it is consignment with a conscious. Items that don’t sell get donated (upon the consigner’s request) to a charity organization that helps the area’s elderly. Encore Fashions is at 5167 Scotts Valley Dr. Store hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. For more information, call 831-461-0125.

3. is a unique boutique with merchandise ranging from custom jewelry to kitchen collectibles. It is the only purveyor of such lines as Crabtree & Evelyn and Brighton in Santa Cruz County. It also carries the very distinct line from Baggalini; travel bags, designed by flight attendants and devised to withstand the harsh rigors of frequent travelers. Over the past 10 years, Zinnia’s has built a reputation around offering the elegant yet unexpected. Perhaps this is because owner, Marion Palm, makes it her business to carry items that do not compete with other local artists. Zinnia’s is at 219 Mt. Hermon Rd. No. C. For more information, call 831-430-9466.

4. is a used children’s clothing shop with so much more. It is the only children’s shop in Scotts Valley to carry a complete line of little girls’ ballet slippers, leotards and tutus. The store stocks wearables from size infant to 12 and has recently begun expanding into preteen sizes. Only items that are clean and in good condition are accepted, so kids are sure to outgrow them before they outwear them. The Little People’s Store also stocks all the essential baby equipment, such as strollers, highchairs and toys. To find out more about shopping or donating, visit the store at 243 Mt. Hermon Rd., or call 831-438-7245.

5.is the perfect place to peruse for antiques and other unique wares. The shop has eight antiques dealers, each with a unique eye for style and charm. You will discover everything from dishware to furniture to linens, and you won’t have to step within 1,000 feet of a Bed, Bath & Beyond. There is also a garden section with adorable oddities for your outdoor space. Ivy’s Porch is at 5311 Scotts Valley Dr.
