Get Out: Your Guide to What's Happening This Weekend

The seniors are putting on a holiday gift faire and the Falcons finish out league play this weekend. What will you be doing?

Scotts Valley Falcons Football

Where/When: Scotts Valley High School football field, 555 Glenwood Drive. Junior varsity, Saturday, 11 a.m. Varsity, Saturday, 2 p.m.

What: The Scotts Valley Falcons football teams will take on St. Francis this weekend in the last game of league play. The Falcons, who have a record of 7-2 overall and 4-1 in league play, are currently second in the Santa Cruz Coast football standings behind Aptos. St. Francis is currently 0-4 in league play.

Where/When: Scotts Valley Community Center and Senior Center, 360 and 370 Kings Village Drive. Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

What: The senior center is putting on its annual holiday craft and gift faire, its biggest yearly fundraiser. So get a jump on your holiday shopping while checking out the handcrafted and contemporary items from over 50 vendors who will be set up in the senior center and community center. There will be food for sale, a bake sale and a raffle as well.

Price: Admission is free. Crafts and gifts are for sale.

Where/When: Don Quixote’s Music Hall, 6275 Highway 9, Felton. Sunday, 1 p.m.

What: Get ready to have a good time. You might laugh. You might sing. You might dance, if you want to. This new collaboration from storyteller Erica Lann-Clark and the local Michael Gaither Band, highlights families in song, music, and spoken word. The themes in the show range from working together, unusual friendships, stewardship, and everybody's family foibles, to funky fables about critters, too. It is fun for the whole family, from the kids to grandparents and everyone in between.

Where/When: , 400 Beach St., Santa Cruz. Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

What: The festival was started in 2009 as an event that features genuine sea glass and ocean art while benefiting the ocean. Since 2009, over $10,000 has been raised toward ocean conservation. This year, 10 percent of admission fees will be donated as charity to the building of the new Sanctuary Exploration Center in Santa Cruz. Last year, over 40 amazing artists participated and more are expected this year. Along with the art on display, there will be ocean and sea glass educational exhibits, as well as food and drink specials.
