‘California Creatures’ Coming to Scotts Valley Library'



 



Newest ‘Art in the Library’ Installation Features Talent of Local
Artists & Children; Artist Reception May 24

Creatures are creeping into the Scotts Valley Library! On April 26 the
Library’s ‘Art in the Library’ program will reveal its newest installation that
celebrates the extreme variety of creatures that live in California. The
showing features the work of celebrated local artists, as well as the talents
of students from the Santa Cruz Children’s School.

The public is invited to meet the artists on Saturday, May
24, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at a reception at the Scotts Valley Library,  251 Kings Village Rd. in Scotts Valley.  Refreshments will be served compliments of Laureen
Yungmeyer of State Farm. Music will be provided by Howie Kimel.

 

Local artists in the spotlight for California Creatures

Sackin

 

 

 

Additionally, Julia Blyumen will present selected pieces by
young artists from the Santa Cruz Children’s School. The arts are a cornerstone
of the school’s K-6 academic program.

 

“California has a remarkable diversity of habitats and
animal species, and many of us have a very emotional bond with animals and
wildlife,” said Valri Peyser, Art in the Library Program Chair. “We invite
everyone in the local community to take a look at how our local artists,
including budding student artists, celebrate California’s creatures.”
