Ben Lomond Man Who Died After Crashing Into Tree Identified

The 21-year-old crashed on rain-slicked Graham Hill Road on Wednesday.

A 21-year-old Ben Lomond man who died Wednesday after losing control of his car and crashing into a tree off of Graham Hill Road east of Summit has been identified.

Samuel Chinevere was driving on the rain-slicked road at around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday when his car veered off of the roadway and into the tree, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Chinevere succumbed to his injuries at Dominican Hospital Wednesday morning, according to the Santa Cruz County coroner's office.

The 21-year-old appeared to have been wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, CHP Officer Sarah Jackson said.
