Gas Station Robbery Suspects in Custody

The men were arrested in Contra Costa County while committing another robbery.

The two men who at gunpoint on Feb. 27 are now behind bars.

The men were arrested on Feb. 29 by the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Department after sheriff’s officers responded to a robbery in progress, which resulted in a brief pursuit that ended with the apprehension of three men.

While investigating the robbery, the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Department learned that the men may have been involved in the robbery in Scotts Valley and contacted the Scotts Valley Police Department.

Officers from SVPD traveled to Contra Costa County and interviewed one of the men. During the interview, SVPD officers were able to gather evidence confirming that two of the men in custody were responsible for the robbery. A third man was also identified as a suspect.

The two men, who are described as being Hispanic between 19 and 21 years old, robbed the gas station with handguns taking cash and various other items before fleeing on foot.

Charges are currently being filed on the two men in custody in Contra Costa and an arrest warrant is being requested for the third suspect.
