Police Blotter: Car Burglar Grabs Laptop, Wallet

Scotts Valley Police Log, Monday, Nov. 5

Theft—A woman's wallet and laptop were stolen from her unlocked car when she went to Starbucks on Mount Hermon Road around 8 a.m. She reported the crime two hours later.

Injury Accident—There was a head-on collision on Mount Hermon Road and Scotts Valley Drive around 11:11 a.m.

Public Intoxication—A man was laying dow at the entrance of New Hope Church on Granite Creek Road. He was arrested.

Tuesday, Nov. 6

Threats—A Scotts Valley High student reported that a classmate threatened to stab her.

Code Violation—Happened at The Camp Recovery Center on Glen Canyon Road. The man involved left before officers arrived.

Wednesday, Nov. 8

Trespassing—A man sleeping in a car in the parking lot at Ricks Mercedes on Scotts Valley Drive around 7:40 a.m. was identified by a man as the person who backed into his son's vehicle earlier in the week.

Disturbance—A motorist reported "road rage type behavior" on Highway 17 and into Scotts Valley on Mount Hermon Road. At a stoplight, the other driver got out and waved a walkie talkie at the motorist. She was dressed as a security guard.

Non-Injury Accident—Happened in the Scotts Valley Feed parking around 4 p.m.

Code Offense—Happened at Polo Ranch Barn, Orchard Run around 9 p.m. A man was sleeping in a car.

Code Offense—A cyclist in dark clothes was weaving in and out of the bike lane on Scotts Valley Drive and Erba Lane around 9:23 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 9

Traffic Stop—A motorist was pulled over for having a Nissan Van license plate with false tags on a Ford Mustang. It happened on Scotts Valley Drive just before 3 a.m.

Code Offense—Officers used an ABC grant to do alcohol enforcement on Friday night.

Non-Injury Accident—Happened in the Safeway parking lot on Mount Hermon Road around 6 p.m.

Traffic Stop—Happened on Scotts Valley Drive around 8:12 p.m.

Code Offense—A person on a bike was given a verbal warning around 9:45 p.m. on Scotts Valley Drive.

Disturbance—Loud music coming from a home at the Blue Bonnet Townhouses was bothering a neighbor around 11:20 p.m.

DUI—Happened on Scotts Valley Drive and Carbonero Way around 8:20 p.m.

Disturbance—A man pulled his car onto the curb in front of Malones Grill and was arguing with a woman around 9:20 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 11

DUI—A drunken driver reportedly drove up a hill on the side road next to Malones, then bottomed out the vehicle around 1:40 p.m. An arrest was made.

Theft—A 55-year-old man stole items from Safeway around 3:50 p.m.

Traffic Stop—Happened around 6:15 p.m. near the Bank of America on Scotts Valley Drive.

Disturbance—Pounding and slamming sounds were reported in an apartment complex on Scotts Valley Drive around 10:20 p.m.
