Scotts Valley Man Missing after Head Injury

Matthew Austin Abraham, 21, hasn't been seen since Wednesday and has recently been disoriented and talking about Henry Cowell State Park.

Update: Missing Scotts Valley Man May Have Been Spotted in Nevada

Four days after suffering a head injury on March 9, Matthew Austin Abraham, 21, of Scotts Valley, went missing on March 13.

According to Lt. Steve Carney, Abraham has been disoriented since his injury and has been talking about the train trestle above the San Lorenzo River in Henry Cowell State Park, a hollowed out group of trees near the same location, the observation deck in the park and the hiking trails above UCSC.

Abraham was last seen wearing rainbow-colored running shoes, a large black backpack, possibly a bracelet and a necklace with a cross.

Carney told Patch that Abraham is a lifelong resident of Scotts Valley and graduated from Scotts Valley High School.

It is unknown where he went when he left his residence.

Anyone who sees Abraham should contact the sheriff's office immediately at 831-471-1121.

The sheriff's office warned that Abraham may be combative when contacted due to his recent head trauma.

We live off of Scotts Valley Drive. There is a person that drives up and down Scotts Valley DriveRead More quite often. He has a dog that rides in the back of his pickup truck. The dog barks as he is riding and sounds like he is just in heaven going for those rides. We want to tip our hat to this man for being such a good dog parent. We look forward to hearing those barks of excitement for many moons to come. Right on sir! And keep on being the good parent you are.
