Scotts Valley Woman Arrested for Burglary and Narcotics Possession

A 19-year-old Scotts Valley woman has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.

Kayla Marie Harris was questioned by Scotts Valley Police after her two roommates accused her of stealing over $700 in jewelry from their bedrooms, according to police.

Officers interviewed Harris, who denied any wrongdoing, but she also denied police officers access to her bedroom for a search.

After obtaining a search warrant for the residence, officers recovered some of the stolen items in Harris’ bedroom, along with narcotics.

Harris was arrested and booked into Santa Cruz County Jail.
