Search For Missing Scotts Valley Man Expands To State Parks

Search efforts for Alex Fossgreen will continue today with a special focus on the Fall Creek State Park.

A search is underway at state parks for a 23-year-old man who was last seen at his home in Scotts Valley early Friday morning, according to the Santa Cruz Sheriff's Office.

A missing person report was filed for Alexander Fossgreen on Friday night, according to deputies.

His family expressed concern for his safety when they discovered he had not returned to his home.

Fossgreen was last seen at his home off of Lockwood Lane in Scotts Valley at about 4 a.m. Friday morning. He is believed to have left his residence on foot with a backpack, clothes, passport and drivers license, according to sheriff's deputies.

Sheriff's deputies completed a search of the area and notified surrounding law enforcement agencies of Fossgreen's disappearance.

The Santa Cruz Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue team combed the area surrounding Fossgreen's residence on Monday without success.

Search and Rescue personnel also searched the Henry Cowell State Park area and a large quarry near Lockwood Lane.

During the search, a witness reported seeing a person similar to Fossgreen in the Fall Creek State Park area, leading sheriff's deputies to search the area.

Search efforts will continue today with a special focus on the Fall Creek State Park, deputies said.

Flyers containing information about Fossgreen have been posted around Scotts Valley and Santa Cruz, with a focus on the local bus stations and the Greyhound bus station, according to deputies.
