Sheriff's Reports: Fake Checks Passed
The following information was provided by the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office. It does not indicate a conviction.
Drug Possession—A man on probation was arrested for drug possession and drug use on the 6800 block of Highway 9 in Felton on Nov. 3.
Car Burglary—A vehicle was broken into on Grand View Avenue in Felton. It was reported Nov. 2. Several items were taken; their value was more than $950..
Illegal Camping—Two men were contacted on Covered Bridge Road at Graham Hill Road on Nov. 1. One was ticketed for illegal camping while the other was arrested for a warrant.

Fake Checks—A unknown person attempted to pass six phony checks at various locations in the Bay Area. The actual checks belong to a Scotts Valley woman and she still has them in her possession, a deputy reported Oct. 16.
