SLV Teen Arrested for Felony DUI

Teen and passenger sustained injuries in crash over the weekend.

A 16-year-old Felton teenager has been charged with felony DUI after an injury crash over the weekend, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The 16-year-old driver, who had a 16-year-old Ben Lomond passenger with him, crashed a white Ford Mustang at the intersection of East Zayante Road and West Zayante Road at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The driver sustained minor injuries and the passenger sustained moderate injuries. Both were treated at the scene.

Officers conducted a DUI investigation and determined the driver to be intoxicated. He was arrested and taken to Santa Cruz County Juvenile Hall. The passenger was released to the driver’s mother after receiving medical care.
