SVPD to Host Poker For a Cause

Play a hand of poker with the police and help raise money for the Special Olympics.

It’s not too late to try your hand at poker and help out a great cause.

On Friday night, the Scotts Valley Police Department will sponsor a Texas Hold 'Em tournament at Bruno’s Barbeque. The event is one of several the department puts on throughout the year to raise money for the Special Olympics of Northern California.

The police department has raised money for the organization for more than a decade through popular fundraisers, such as "Tip A Cop" restaurant nights, "Police in Pursuit” and its newest fundraiser, the Texas Hold 'Em tournament.
