Two 76 Clerks Arrested on Drug and Embezzlement Charges

Two clerks at the Scotts Valley gas station were arrested by the sheriff's office on Monday.

Santa Cruz Sheriff’s deputies arrested two clerks at the Scotts Valley 76 gas station on Monday for various drug related charges and embezzlement.

Detectives from the sheriff’s office first became suspicious of the embezzlement at the beginning of January after purchasing items from the station’s store from clerk Adarose Sievers, 51. At that time, detectives noted suspicious behavior with the transaction, and that Sievers displayed signs and symptoms of drug use.

The detectives, assisted by the Scotts Valley Police Department, continued investigating and visited the store on two other occasions. Both times they again noticed similar suspicious behavior from Sievers. After another suspicious transaction on Monday afternoon, detectives confronted Sievers, who at first denied any wrongdoing. Sievers eventually admitted to stealing money from the store. Detectives are not sure at this time exactly how much money was embezzled from the station.
