The forest land above Green Hills Drive caught fire Thursday afternoon, but no evacuations were ordered for the area, according to Scotts Valley police.
The wildfire was reported around 2:30 p.m. in Lodato Park, a hiking-only park on the western edge of Scotts Valley. The park largely composed of a loop trail that meanders up the hillside, is adjacent to several partially-occupied office buildings.
Scotts Valley police issued this advisory message just after 3 p.m.:
An identified fire in wooded area off Green Hills Road is currently being fought by fire personnel. No evacuations at this point are being called for.
People reported seeing smoke and flames behind the Sportsman Club, a members-only shooting range near the office buildings on Green Valley Road.
Around 3:45 p.m. police reported the fire had been contained.
