Get Out: Last Weekend to See 'Annie Get Your Gun'

Meet local artists, cheer on the Falcons football team, watch 'Annie Get Your Gun'—these are just a few options of things to do in and around Scotts Valley this weekend.

Where/When: , 800 Bethany Dr., Scotts Valley. Friday and Saturday, 7:30 p.m. Sunday, 2 p.m. 

Why Go: Annie Get Your Gun is a shining example of two of America’s greatest story lines; the "rags to riches" tale, and the tale of the glory of show business. Enjoy the show Friday or Saturday night this weekend or take in the Sunday matinee. The show will run through the middle of the month.

Why Go: What better way to support the community and its youth than to cheer on the Scotts Valley Falcons football teams. This is a great community event as the Falcons take on rival San Lorenzo Valley.

Where/When: Felton Community Hall, 6191 Highway 9, Felton. Saturday, 2:30 p.m.

Why Go: The Valley Women’s Club of San Lorenzo Valley’s environmental committee is putting on the event as a service to the community. The group has invited Assembly member Bill Monning to speak about state environmental issues and about recent legislation. He will also listen to comments, questions and concerns from those in attendance. Why Go: This is the perfect opportunity to meet some of our best local artists and support them as they show off their latest works. There will also be live music and snacks and a really impressive collection of fine and functional art for sale. Why Go: The Pacific Rim Film Festival is celebrating its 23rd year, and this year’s theme, “When Strangers Meet,” is sure to draw some amazing films. For six days, the festival will bring you work from filmmakers spanning the Pacific rim: Japan, South Korea, China, New Zealand, The Philippines, India, Mexico, Australia and the U.S. Local artists include Bay Area filmmakers Greg Miller and Brian Lilla with their film Patagonia Rising, the benefit finale film. The festival will also present the premiere of Santa Cruzan Eric Thiermann's film It Tolls for Thee.
